Photoshooting
Creativity
I provide a very precise brief so the photographer or film maker knows exactly what is expected. Despite this, the professional is always asked to apply their creativity and their eyes to the project.
I have created storyboards for films to ensure expensive resources can be fully utilised.

Bringing the right equipment
The requirements for a photoshoot may be extensive. I have worked with a range of projects from simple, to complex
Safety
Maybe unsurprisingly, with all the specialist equipment and urgency, accident can happen. safety I take very seriously and I create a plan to minimise the risks to the extent possible.
It didn’t stop us memorably crashing a plane on one shoot. No one hurt, just a bent propeller and crumpled undercarriage.
Adaptability
Sometimes the right equipment is nit available. In those circumstances, I can be adaptable and devise an alternative method to ensure the job gets done
Team Management
Sometimes the size of the crew on a shoot can be very large and this is an additional challenge which needs managing to ensure everyone is acting together and knows what their role is.
I have managed large crews to make sure that resources are deployed effectively and that projects are completed on budget and in time.
Some examples of finished products
This Movie, shot in a small village near to Malaga, saw a car moving through several artificial scenes before “popping out” to use the real location. The car changes colour as it passes through the narrow streets but the changes are very subtle so not everyone sees them. The 30′ YouTube version seen here has the brand at the very beginning in case the viewer clicks away after 5 seconds. The start sequence also contain a movie effect to try to retain viewers beyond the enforced watch time.
This is the final film I made. It introduces a new winter tire. The tire is the first winter product produced at our new European factory and uses materials developed in our European R&D centre so the parent wanted us to sell it at a premium. For this additional tools were required to be able to position the product at the top price point. The motion graphics in the film were all produced using a CAD model of a tire section, built into a complete tire.
A series of explainer movies were produced for a new product to highlight its premium benefits compared to both the best selling model in the same category as well as the product .it replaced.
This movie, followed the design of the print key visuals and showcased the technical capabilities of the tire. The tire was shown being tested on a road at the start of the film. (I’m driving the car in this by the way.)
The film then transitions to show an imaginary testing machine with the tire being assessed before showing a 100% “result” on the test machine screen.
A new product was replacing an existing one but had to be positioned at a premium in a segment with low consumer interest.
This movie incorporated a simple narrative element. A bored teenager, glued to her phone was dropped off at school before her parents drove to a local airport to take a flight. The man drove the car and in. the original storyboard, the woman flew the plane. This final scene was cut to suit the wishes of the parent company.
Filmed in Hungary, this movie had to show the off-road capabilities of a tire to show its extended use. Most purchasers would never actually use the product off road so the tire had to show performing well on road also.
The use of the product as part of an emergency service for a band whose vehicle had broken down, using shortcuts off-road as well as highway and city sequences, showed the full range of the products abilities.
Music for the movie was provided by the band featured in the film.
